The aim of this work is to think and discuss some conditions for the body in the present time. At first, in the 19th century, photography and cinema produced images of bodies in a specific aesthetic context. The cinema promoted a certain continuity of attention to the body present in the ancient circus and body arts, while at the same time opened the difference of a new regime with the technical apparatus. I am going to reflect on the contemporary production of body images having as reference two axes: a) unity versus fragmentation; b) to be and to have a body.
