Abstract

In this article we analyze the novel Lugar (2010), by Reni Adriano. The work aims to discuss the constructive procedures of the narrative that can be described as a reconstruction of popular and oral short-stories, the representation of the sertão man and the expressions of the violence. These structural elements are appropriated in the text to create a mythic place where the characters of the novel live. The Adriano’s novel does a critic reading of the opposition between the inland and coast Brazilian regions and his narrative dialogues with a regionalist approach of the Brazilian Literature.
