Magic, Past, Fascism, ImageAbstract
Magic is still a central issue in Western Culture, being constitutive of rationalism itself. Taking image as a place where magic can operate – rather than as disciplined representation – is still a gesture (or a desire) in use. The movement within pictures (photographs and paintings) of the magical world in Harry Potter series (books and films) makes it possible to see, live action, Bergsonian notion of past and, at the same time, along with the struggle against (magical) fascism, Benjaminian notion of history.Downloads
