Abstract

Discussion of Realism as the moment of rupture between the representative regime and the aesthetic regime (Racière), through the analysis of the photography of Christiano Júnior and Revert Henrique and the paintings by Almeida Júnior and Rodolfo Amoedo; and the Realist Novel of the nineteenth century as the condition of possibility for photography.
