Abstract

Based on the emergence of rationalization regarding Latin American motion pictures’ production, distribution, and exhibition in the last twenty-one years (1990-2011), and considering cinemas’ theory as social production, we are able to evoke the Washington Consensus consequences on the movies’ political, economic, and aesthetic regimes as provokers of a poetics of responsability. In the representation field, for instance, the circunstances have been meant as a reduction of rethoric repertory (figures etc.) and seem to have set Latin American’s simbolic dependency of hegemonic audiovisualities.
