This article aims to present an analysis of the intertextuality and discursive play between literature and photography present in the photobook Mão na Lata e Berro D’Água, a photo essay produced in 2006 by a group of teenagers from Favela da Maré, organized by photographer Tatiana Altberg and based on the work of Jorge Amado entitled A morte e a morte de Quincas Berro D’Água (The double death of Quincas Water-Bray). The photobook brings together text and image, word and photography, in a reinterpretation of the memories of the character Quincas and the dream universe present in the original narrative, represented by the plastic of pinhole photographs, a technique chosen by the group for this reinterpretation. For this analysis, our considerations are theoretically grounded on authors who discuss the hybridization of contemporary arts (Brizuela, 2014) and intertextuality (Fiorin, 2016, Nitrini, 2015 and Reis, 2003), in order to identify the relationship between text and image in the photobook Mão na Lata e Berro D’Água.Downloads
