Abstract

Abstract: The present article was conceived through reflections proposed in reunions of Animaletras, an independent research project that analyzes animations from the perspective of concepts that belong to the Letters and Linguistics areas. The animation in question is called Aggretsuko, a Netflix original anime that debates among other subjects, issues related to the Japanese labor market and how the capitalist model impacts institutions such as marriage. To examine this work, it was used the concept of Office Lady and the reflections related to this theme that dialogue with the social reality imposed by the capitalism and patriarchal system which the society in question belongs to. Despite being a comedy cartoon, Aggretsuko draws the attention to relevant and delicate debates about and for Japanese society as a whole.
