Abstract

Poetry is a playful activity, and as every game is ruled by the chaotic freedom of paidia, or by the directing and restraining of ludus. Phenomena such as glossolalia, the vocal games and the “lalangue”, studied both by psychoanalytic and linguistic bias, bring to the fore the importance of the sonority, rhythm and musicality of the voice, hidden or unheard because of significant speech. In this bias, the poetic arts are games that experience the sonic and imaginary materiality reorganizing the voice and the experience of the language. It is from this perspective that we investigate how voice, sound and word can function as poetic formations that allow us to play with language.
