Abstract

The last decades of the twentieth century, beginning with what we call the third millennium, presented a series of technological advents that emerged with power in the twenty-first century. The introduction of these new technologies allied with access devices such as computers, notebooks, and more recently, smartphones, phablets and tablets, resulted in the emergence of social behaviors and environments that were previously not identified in society. The use of these devices combined with the issues of social networks, become objects of very significant studies in the field of information technology, but nevertheless perform intersections with Plato's concept of epistemological break can enrich aspects of the theories of philosophy, knowledge and technology. This study aims to analyze these relationships, more specifically the term Hashtag as a matter of intelligible and sensible representation. The main authors of the study were Orlandi (1996; 1999), Gallo (2011) and Descartes (1973). This research is based on bibliographic and qualitative approach. From the analysis it was possible to identify that the epistemological break is part of everything that we analyzed, from the design to the study of objects of thought, and Hashtags also are included in this theory.
