Abstract

In that article, we seek to discuss how the pedagogical practices of literacy are distant from the reading and writing needs of the students who live in contact with written texts of the most varied genres, who are submitted to a bombardment of textual genres and who are constantly called upon to read and understand texts. To do so, we base our work on the theoretical presuppositions of French Discourse Analysis and on literacy theories to understand how, on the one hand, information society requires familiarity with several textual medias, while on the other hand the school system is not able to prepare students to this requirement, thus generating a gap we will discuss here.
