Kirchnerist construction of memory

Abstract

The effects on the construction of collective memory caused by the arrival of the kirchnerism to the political field have been extensively studied. That construction suffered transformations with the change of president, which have been less studied. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to present an analysis about the discursive construction of memory during Cristina Fernández de Kirchner first government. This research is part of the discourse studies, and more precisely it is part of the theory of social discourses. We have formed a corpus of messages produced in commemoration events for our analysis. We have followed a contrastive procedure. We have compared the speeches of Cristina Fernández with those of her predecessor, in order to detect the specificity of their remembrance operations.
