Between the divine and the human planes: an analysis of the religious discourse in the media

Abstract

This paper discusses a specific speech genre known as mediatic sermons. In former times sermons were limited in their expression to the pulpit, at the temples. Nowadays they are supported by mass communication means such as radio and television. As a result new media formats and new rules have been generated for religious discourse.
