Abstract

On July 2nd, 2003, the Brazilian President Luís Inácio Lula da Silva received the leaders of the Landless Workers Movement (MST) for an audience, and, in a spirit of camaraderie, allowed himself to be photographed wearing a cap of the MST. This event generated discourses whose meanings are not in the words used, but in the conditions of production that originated them, which will be analyzed in this paper from the perspective of French Discourse Analysis.
