Some informal considerations on inference

Abstract

This article presents an informal discussion on inference, one of the central aspects of Sperber and Wilson’s Relevance theory. From traditional Logic to cognitive models, the authors work under the assumption that the conventionalized patterns by an X society which uses a Y language determines the restrictions to the inferential processes that take place in a communicative exchange.
