Inferences in summaries with and without resource to the base text: A case study based on the Relevance theory
Keywords:
Relevance theory, Text, Summary, ComprehensionAbstract
In this work the Relevance theory is applied to the analysis of a summary with resource to the base text, produced immediately after a first summary without resource to the same base text. More specifically, the first sentences from the two summaries are compared with the three initial sentences from the base text. The results indicate, in the second summary, the presence of elements from: the first summary, the base text, and inferences not included in the first summary.Downloads
