The open world of Turner

Abstract

Focusing on Turner's painting The Burning of the House of Lords and the Commons, the present essay analyses the effect produced by its pictorial discourse, also discussing the philosophical character of its figurativeness. In other words, this work analyses the plastic quality of verbal manifestations which symbolize a meaning for painting and the world.
