Abstract

This article, theoretically anchored in Textual-Interactive Grammar, aims to discuss the regularity of a language unit within the scope of textual organization, in addition to collaborating in reflection on new possibilities regarding the teaching and learning of writing. To this end, it analyzes Topicality at its two levels of functioning – the intertopic organization and the intratopic organization, seeking to verify whether this process is systematic or whether it is variable. The adopted methodology assumes the discursive topic as an analysis category and investigates 47 written productions by higher education students. This investigation makes it possible to understand how elements of an essentially textual nature are organized and to maintain that the text is configured as a very systematic unit, as it presents its own organization, based on particular constituent principles.
