Abstract

This article, the result of an investigation on the relationship between discourse and social practice, analyzes the reference to the preferential as specified in the text of the Elder's Statute and in the voluntary testimony by six seniors, aiming to understand the interdiscourse mobilized in such enunciations, recovered in an advertising text. The theoretical-methodological perspectives of analysis are the theories of the discourse, specifically Bakhtinian dialogism according to the readings of Authier-Revuz (2004), and Discourse Analysis in the perspective of Pêcheux (2008) and Orlandi (1996, 1998, 2003). The results of the analyses enabled the understanding of how the existence of the law still points to the discourse that surrounds the universe of the old age in a negative way.
