Abstract

The relation between referenciation processes and topical progression has been the subject of discussions in many works by Brazilian researchers from in the fields of text and discourse. This work is inserted in such a context and it intends to resume that issue. My aim to discuss the relation between discourse object and discursive topic, within the wider context of the relation between referenciation processes and topical progression, which has only been suggested in previous works, and from that point on to propose some systematization. Initially, I retake and contextualize both notions, then I discuss the attempt to explain the relation between them in Brazilian studies and, finally, I introduce a systematization proposal.
