ANÁLISIS POR ENVOLTURA DE DATOS (DEA) APLICADO A LOS PUERTOS: EL ESTADO DEL ARTE

Resumen

El desempeño portuario se ha convertido en un factor determinante para el desarrollo de la economía mundial, ya que el transporte marítimo es el principal eslabón de la cadena logística global. En este contexto, el método Análisis Envoltorio de Datos (DEA) ha sido empleada para estudio de eficiencia de sistemas portuarios y los resultados ayudan a tomar decisiones organizativas. Así, el presente artículo tiene por objetivo identificar el estado del arte sobre DEA aplicado a puertos. A través de levantamiento bibliográfico, se registraron cincuenta y cinco publicaciones sobre la aplicación de este método de modelado matemático en el sector portuario. De estas, catorce estudiaron los principales puertos mundiales y sólo cinco enfocaron sus análisis en puertos brasileños, lo que puede ser considerado como una laguna de investigación. Además, se constató que la mayoría de los estudios están orientados a sistemas portuarios de contenedores. Siendo así, hay oportunidad de explotación de la herramienta DEA para los demás tipos de carga.
