Entrepreneurship: an investigation in the evolution of the students entrepreneurial perspective of a private IES in Rio Grande do Norte

Abstract

Entrepreneurship is gaining more space society. Within a context in which Universitys are putting in their curricular teaching entrepreneurship course in conjunction with the didactic and pedagogical practices, this research sought to investigate the evolution of the entrepreneurial perspective on students entering and graduating from courses in Administration, Nursing, Social Work Technology and courses in a private University in Natal / RN, showing what influences entrepreneurial present during the academic life in their research subjects. Through a case study, we adopted an exploratory and descriptive research. The research sample consisted of 2450 students with a sample of 358 university students studying Business Administration, Social Services, Nursing and Technology. It was used as an instrument of data collection a questionnaire with closed questions on the model proposed by McClelland (1971) considering the entrepreneurial dimensions: independence, creativity, locus of control and willingness to take risks. The data were treated statistically, with the technical, the chi-square test. The results demonstrated that there is a material change in the behavior of students lifelong academic, since the dimensions of creativity and independence were recorded with the largest positive changes. It was found that creativity in relation to size, we noticed no difference when comparing a course aimed at the business with other formations, both of which offer courses investigated means for developing the creativity of students. It is concluded that the competence of entrepreneurial behavior can be developed in students from the inclusion of entrepreneurship as a discipline and implementation of educational and pedagogical activity in University in view of the evolution of the entrepreneurial perspective of the students surveyed in the research.
