Abstract

Appropriate criteria for selecting ideas increase the chances of organizations to develop potentially innovative and competitive products. The purpose of this paper is to identify criteria for selecting ideas in the context of innovation. For this, an integrative literature review was conducted. The result identified the division of the criteria into 5 aspects. The Technical and Technological aspect encompasses the technical viability, infrastructure and intellectual capital. Economical addresses the market, customer acceptance and finance. The Strategic aspect involves strategic fit. The Social aspect considers the culture and context. Finally, Intuition is considered when choosing ideas in the early stages of innovation.
