Abstract

The organizational theory has been developed and being enriched by the growing diversity of epistemological views, including the Institutional Approach. However, the absorptive capacity of knowledge has undergone a considerable lag in relation to the demands of the labor market. This study aims to analyze the application of the business games methodology as a complementary strategy in the teaching and learning, given the framework of the Institutional Approach, character interpretation. The research was based on a survey of two classes of graduate courses in administration, where one of them was applied in a business game and the other does not. Using qualitative and quantitative analysis, we concluded that the business games can be a very useful methodology in the reality simulation in assessing the performance and contribute in the teaching of various streams of organization theory.
