Abstract

Technology startups have a positive impact on the socioeconomic development of a region, but they lack resources, seeking support organizations, such as incubators and accelerators. This work aimed to identify the differences and similarities between incubation and acceleration programs, based on the resources offered, using the Resource Based View as a theoretical perspective. For this, a qualitative approach was adopted, with the realization of a case study with the application of semi-structured interviews with an incubator and an accelerator. Five categories of resources were identified: physical, financial, technological, organizational, and human. The results showed that the incubation and acceleration programs have different characteristics, not being exclusive but complementary.
