Objective: To identify and analyze studies that tested the effect of reiki on blood pressure control. Material and method: this is a systematic review, based on the PRISMA recommendations, which had as a guiding question (in PICO format): “In relation to people who have or do not have a diagnosis of Systemic Arterial Hypertension (population), what is the effect reiki (intervention) to control blood pressure (outcomes)?”. The search was carried out, between the period of November 2019 and March 2020, by two researchers, in the bases PubMed, Cochrane, Scielo and Science Direct, using the strategy (reiki [MeSH Terms]) AND (hypertension OR blood pressure [ MeSH Terms]). Results: After applying the limits and selective and critical analysis of the findings, three trials comprised this review. Of these, two indicated the effect of reiki on lowering blood pressure. Final considerations: It is necessary to develop research that reinforces these results and provides evidence for a largescale clinical study.
