Introduction: Cancer is one of the biggest causes of death in the world and is considered a public health problem. Objective: The objective was accomplish histopathological evaluation of organs of Erhlich’s carcinoma treated with cisplatin, acupuncture and Euphorbia tirucalli L. Methodology: Its were used 25 female mice, 60 days old, with 25 and 35 g of body weight were divided into Group 1 - Negative control - 1ml of Physiological Serum 0,9% (VO); Group 2 - Positive control - 2.5mg / kg Cisplatin (VO); Group 3 - Pre-treatment with acupuncture + 2mg / kg of Euphorbia tirucalli (VO); Group 4 - Acupuncture; Group 5 - Acupuncture + 2mg / kg Euphorbia tirucalli (VO). Carcinoma cells were inoculated into all animals and for 8 days the therapeutic protocols were performed. On the ninth day the mice were weighed, euthanized by cervical displacement, necropsied for histological evaluation and the tumor excised. The acupoints used were BL10, GB30 and LR3. Results: The weight of the organs (Kidneys, Spleen, Liver) and Tumor were signifcant. The main histopathological changes were pneumonia, hepatitis, necrosis, fatty degeneration and hyperplasia of the white pulp. Conclusion: The cisplatin has been shown to be the most e?ective treatment in mice with Erhlich’s carcinoma for tumor reduction. The dose used in the latex research of Euphorbia tirucalli L. was shown to be hepatotoxic, however the treatments with acupuncture and the plant provided an immune response. Tus, the association of acupuncture and Euphorbia tirucalli is suggested as adjuvant treatments in patients with carcinoma.Downloads
