Abstract

This article addresses the Pilgrimage of Divine Holy Spirit, in the community of Barra doArarapira, mu¬nicipality of Guaraqueçaba, northern coast of Paraná State (Brazil). The main objective is to recover and record the experience of pomegranate tradition as a knowledge of popular Catholicism transmitted from generation to generation, as well as investigate its po¬tential in promoting health in the community. To do so, we use the methodology of participant observa¬tion during the Pilgrimage of 2015, as well as the lis¬tening technique with the old residents. In the results, we show how the religious traditions are connected to the health-disease process, promoting health and re¬arranging people’s lives.
