Abstract

The objective was to evaluate the effectiveness in the quality of life and clinical and laboratory parameters of the association of vibration at a distance, according to the apometry technique, as a complement to the conventional treatment of neoplasms in dogs. A randomized, double-blind clinical trial of 51 dogs with cancer treated at a Veterinary Hospital was carried out. The control group received only cancer treatment with chemotherapy, associated or not with surgery. The intervention group also received, by the apometry technique, treatment of vibrations at a distance, without face-to-face contact with the dog or tutor. There was a greater number of erythrocytes (6.19), hemoglobin (19.83), hematocrit (37.72) and eosinophils (272.55) in animals that received vibration at a distance (intervention group) when compared to the group control (5.29; 17.19; 32.8; 172.8, respectively.
