The main purpose of this article is to present a general perspective of chromotherapy’s research on SCIELO, LILACS, EMBASE and PUBMED/MEDLINE databases, with the objective of identifying the number of studies produced in this area, as well as the actors’ concepts about the method. To conduct the research, it was first necessary to define the purpose of the literature revision to then carry out the stages of data collecting, criteria definition of articles’ inclusion or exclusion and critical analysis of the study. In total 87 articles have been recovered on the 3 databases with the keywords proposed, however, only 22 of those met the inclusion criteria. Exclusion’s criteria were also presented, as well as the number of excluded articles with the related reason. The oldest article verified on those databases is from 1991; an increase in articles’ production in the years of 1999, 2003, 2007, 2008 and 2010 was observed. The countries with the most number of publications are: Cuba and Pakistan. Through this study it was possible to verify that the scien¬tific literature on Chromotherapy / Chromotherapy, is still incipient, considering that this practice has been used for hundreds of years for disease prevention and health maintenance.Downloads
