Prevalence of iridological signs suggesting diabetes in the elderly: a pilot study

Iridology is a complementary observational propedeutic method especially designed for the early detection of signs on the iris suggesting predisposition to certain diseases and for reducing their chances of occurrence. This study intended to compare the presence of iridological signs suggesting pre¬disposition to diabetes in patients with and without the disease. The pilot study was conducted in São Paulo city, at the Health Center-School in the period of April 25th to 27th, 2007, involving 30 subjects. Among diabetic subjects, 100% showed signs on iris; for the control group, 53.3% showed signs, while the remaining 46.7% did not. The Mann-Whitney test shows statistically significant diference in the preva¬lence of this signs between the two groups.Downloads
