Introduction: Although premenstrual syndrome, also called premenstrual syndrome (PMS), is a very common condition among women, affecting up to 50% of those of childbearing age. Its etiology as well as its treatment are still the target of discussions mainly among women. Objective: Effect evaluation of auriculotherapy treatment against the classic signs and symptoms of PMS in students of the Biomedicine course at Universidade Regional de Blumenau, FURB. Material and methods: 10 students who present the signs and symptoms of PMS volunteered. Initially, a questionnaire for anamnesis was applied, which was answered in a digital format. The treatment with auriculotherapy lasted for 5 weeks, and the participants were instructed to stimulate the points 3 times a day during the period the study lasted. The points used were Shen men, Kidney, Brain Nerve, Uterus, Endocrine, Liver, Gallbladder, Liver Yang, Anxiety, Tension, and Sanjiao. Results: In general, all students evaluated showed improvement in the signs and symptoms evaluated. The parameters that most showed a reduction were irritability and abdominal swelling (in both cases the reduction was 46% among the volunteers). Insomnia, in turn, was the parameter that showed the least improvement (2%) among the volunteers. Conclusion: Although there is a need for complementary tests, it is evident that the auriculotherapy technique minimizes the effects caused by PMS, significantly improving the quality of life of these volunteers during the period when the effects of PMS are most intense.
