Abstract

This article is the partial result of a bigger project that seeks to understand the reception and particularities assumed by Bakhtinian thought in Brazil since its introduction in the 1970s to the present day. For doing so, it analyzes the texts that frame the Brazilian translations and (re)translations of the Bakhtinian work, examining which dialogical (evaluative) relationships can be observed in these frame-texts: with whom they dialogue and to whom they are addressed at the time of their publication. This paper analyzes the Brazilian reception of the essays on Aesthetics of Verbal Creation, in the 1992 and 1997 editions, in the 2003 (re)translation, and also in subsequent publications, 2016 and 2017. The frame-texts of each of these editions show how reception, initially inserted in the tradition and continuity of a European and international academic scientific moment, has established itself institutionally over four decades, revealing new ways of reading and circulating the dialogical perspective of discourse in Brazil.
