Resumo

FinTechs são startups que adotam modelos de negócios inovadores para competir com as instituições financeiras estabelecidas. O estudo se propõe a identificar as características das abordagens estratégicas adotadas pelas FinTechs brasileiras para competir na indústria de meios eletrônicos de pagamentos. Foi utilizada a Análise Qualitativa Comparativa (QCA) e o software fsQCA tendo como base evidencias coletadas junto a executivos de instituições financeiras e FinTechs. Os resultados demonstraram a relevância de três caraterísticas: tecnologias digitais, agilidade e experimentação. Outras duas características, visão e emergência, se demonstraram comparativamente menos frequentes. Os resultados são sintetizados na expressão PTD+ITD+IAO+IER ? AEF.
