Resumo

Há 80 anos, a academia busca compreender assertivamente o papel dos executivos nas organizações. Pesquisadores intencionaram responder a esse problema e produziram artigos. Desta feita, este estudo objetiva identificar a magnitude da produção acadêmica internacional acerca do impacto dos executivos sobre o desempenho organizacional, por meio de estudo bilibométrico. Valendo-se das leis da Bilbiometria, identificou a atualidade do tema, com produção anual ascendente, em periódicos de alto fator de impacto: Strategic Management Journal,Academy of Management Journal eJournal of Management. Donald Hambrick emerge como grande autor seminal, inclusive para o construto managerial discretion. O presente estudo aponta duas possibilidades de estudos futuros.
