COMPREENDENDO A RELAÇÃO ENTRE TQM HARD, SOFT E PERFORMANCE: UMA ABORDAGEM TEÓRICA

Resumo

Este artigo tem a finalidade de compreender a relação entre TQM hard e soft e a performance da firma. Para isso, buscou-se realizar uma revisão sistemática da literatura onde foram identificados 102 artigos, dos quais 52 publicações internacionais foram analisadas. O estudo permite destacar os seguintes achados: a implantação do TQM deve ser associada à estratégia organizacional visando ao alcance da performance da firma; os aspectos relacionais do TQM devem ser mistos, ou seja, tanto hard quanto soft; os aspectos hard e soft são antecedentes da implantação do TQM; a intangibilidade da dimensão soft dificulta a mensuração por indicadores; a competitividade organizacional pode ser obtida a partir da implantação do TQM, alinhada com elementos da estratégia competitiva difícil de ser imitada no curto prazo, a exemplo das Capacidades Dinâmicas.

Mestre em Engenharia de Produção pela Universidade Federal da Paraíba (2005). Graduado em Administração pela Universidade Federal da Paraíba (2001). Atualmente, é Professor do Curso de Administração da Universidade de Caxias do Sul (UCS).
